A great piece on mining.com comparing Tesla, VW, and BYD on a bunch of metrics. Unsurprisingly, with its $trillion market cap, Tesla is stomping the competition on multiple levels. The Model 3, which sells for 10-times the price of entry level models from cheaper competitors, is the bestselling EV worldwide. Its dominance is even more noticeable in terms of raw battery power, accounting for more than a quarter of all the battery power found in passenger cars hitting the road last year.
Here’s what I find most interesting though. Tesla’s need a lot of nickel, and I mean a LOT! Check out this chart:



Basically, last year Tesla deployed 27% of the world’s battery nickel! Food for thought if you’re a battery metals and EV market bull.
